The Creighton Barrels and Ulan Bator Khans battled to a 43-43 tie in Finks League action this week.
The
deciding play was Marques Colston's TD catch in Monday night's game,
which allowed the Khans to escape with a draw. Both owners can lament a
whole slew of "what-if's": If Dalton throws for one more yard, the Khans
win; if Green has one more yard receiving yard, the Barrels win, and to
make it worse, for a moment Green was over the 100-yard mark, but that
play was called back by a penalty. If the Khans start Fitzgerald (who
had a TD catch) instead of Gonzalez (who had 0 points) they win; if the
Barrels start Steve Smith (who had a TD catch) instead of Julio Jones
(who had 5 points), they win. So, I guess with all of that in mind, a
tie is a fair outcome. Still doesn't do anything to soothe the
Finks-induced ulcer, which prompted this quip from Khans owner D.J.
Wanberg: "During football season, I buy my Pepto-Bismol at Costco in the five-gallon drum. It's only $1.13."
