Week 1: Manning's big day

Peyton Manning owners were elated after Week 1 with his record-tying seven TD passes against the Ravens, but I'm sure on the flip side that those competing against Manning were not happy. In the Finks League, that would have been the Barrels who saw the Eggers score 68 points with help from Manning's 30 Finks points.

In my wife's Yahoo League from work, she was pretty mad as well after watching Manning drop a ton of points in her QB-heavy league. Is it bad thing this season when a husband and wife in separate leagues have the same QB? The Wilcoxes are all over QB Stafford DET this season.

Manning's 30 Finks points is not a record, even though individual Finks points have not been kept. Dah Commish only added the Player of the Week feature a few years ago. Quags' RB D. Martin TB scored 33 in Week 9 last year. Quags might know how he did it. Quags beat the Distillers 80-46 that week.

  1. From Traczek: After Manning threw his 5th TD pass on Thursday I was trailing 24-0 and already beginning to wonder why I put myself through this crap every year (it's usually about Week 5 hen that reality comes crashing down). Then he started throwing TDs to the right Thomas (Demaryius) and the game ended with me facing a much more manageable 30-19 deficit.
What bothered me most on Monday was the fact that Morris scored a cheap TD when he had done absolutely nothing else (except fumble) during the game to that point, and just when I was starting to allow myself to dream that Jackson might single-handedly lead me to an improbable comeback victory. Another killer was the fact that David Wilson couldn't hold on to the freakin' football on Sunday night, earning a spot in Coughlin's doghouse, which is extremely hard to escape and may put him on the shelf for a few weeks (which means that, of course, I won't start him next week and he'll score 3 TDs).
