Dah Commish starts his title defense starting this week with Year 33 of the Finks League experiment.
Dah Commish won his third Finks League title in his 32 years with a win over Hurricane Quags. It was Dah's first under the Saints Preserve Us! banner. His last title was in 2012 under the Anthony Munoz and Cleopatra nickname.
Our same 10 owners are back again for another Finks League season. Here a few notes on the annual auction to kick things off:
- The Jays spent $74.48 on RBs Gibbs DET and Bij. Robinson ATL. My Athlon NFL preseason issue lists another Robinson RB for ATL. That one is B. Robinson Jr., who I believe was in WAS for a while.
- This year's auction featured two blind draws -- team names pulled out of a hat -- when multiple teams have same bids for the same player. Both draws featured Kickers. The Distillers faced Fantasy for matching bids of 10 cents for K Borregales NE. Borregales was the only available K for each owner so the loser comes out of the auction without a kicker on his roster. The other draw featured the Saints! vs. Jays over a penny for K Loop BAL. Why does seeing Loop's name in a boxscore everytime remind me of K Tucker BAL?
- Here is the breakdown of top bids by position: QB -- Allen BUF (Mafia) $40.02; RB -- Gibbs DET (Jays) $40.00; WR -- St. Brown DET (Quags) $24.20; K -- Aubrey DAL (Mafia) $11.02.
- According to Athlon NFL Preview, the best available Finks free agents by position are: QB -- L. Jackson BAL, RB Harvey DEN, WR Burden III CHI, TE McBride AZ and K Sanders NYG.
